Engineers, Materialism, and the Communist Method

I explore the relationship that conceptual models and real world phenomena have to each other, and how engineers deploy a methodology of mediating model and phenomena towards a real-world goal. From this I draw out the materialist kernel within, despite the shortcomings of engineering’s contemporary form in capitalist society. This is extended further to, at an abstract level, explore the political implications of such an expanded engineering method and its compatibility with the communist project.
